Dedicated to Isis, rescued from rising Nile waters and rebuilt on an island. Reached by motorboat—the approach is magical.

Nubian Villages

Take a motorboat or felucca to the Nubian villages on Elephantine Island or the West Bank. Colorful houses, friendly locals, authentic culture.

Felucca Sailing

Aswan is the best place in Egypt for felucca sailing. Sunset trips around the islands are classic Egypt.

Aswan High Dam

The massive dam that created Lake Nasser. Quick visit, impressive engineering.

Unfinished Obelisk

A giant obelisk abandoned in its quarry when a crack appeared. Interesting insight into ancient construction.

Abu Simbel (Day Trip)

The colossal Ramses II temples, 3 hours south by road (or short flight). One of Egypt's most impressive sites.
